Red berries aroma, lime acidity, with apples, mangoes, stonefruits and honey suckle sweetness. Coupled with a smooth and syrupy body and has notes of spices in the finish.

Also known as Deep Forest Village, Ga Naing Yar Community is deepy nestled in the Indigo mountainous terrain surrounded by lush forest and wildlife.

 

In 2017, after learning about a USAID project implemented by Winrock International that helps coffee producers improve yields and quality to find more profitable markets, Ga Naing Yar Community decided to adopt new practices and technologies. 

 

With technical advice on sun-dry, natural procesing techniques from Winrock, the villagers harvested only ripe, red coffee cherries. New raised drying racks were also built and used to protect cherries and dry them faster. U Soe Lwin, one of the leaders of the Pa-O ethnic community, ensures that quality is not compromised by regularly measuring the moisture rates of the beans. Dried cherries are also stored properly in improved, airtight storage bags.

 

Organized by Winrock and partners, the Coffee Quality Institute and the Myanmar Coffee Association, a panel of three international coffee experts rated the coffee. Ga Naing Yar's coffee won the 2017 National Cupping Competition with a cup score of 88.5 out of 100 points!
